DAY 1

DAY 2

BEIJING

You will start with a visit toTiananmen Square, the location where Mao Zedong proclaimed the founding of the People's Republic of China from the balcony of the Rostrum on October 1, 1949. Then, visit the magnificent Forbidden City, home to 24 emperors. Historically strictly off-limits to ordinary people (hence the name), the gates today will lead to a fascinating display of Chinese history in what is probably the best-preserved site of classical Chinese architecture.

After lunch, see the exquisiteSummer Palace with a boat ride on its Lake Kunming (weather permitting). Artisans reproduced the garden architecture styles of various palaces in China.

DAY 3

BEIJING


Today climb the awesome Great Wallof China (UNESCO World Heritage site).It is a symbol of ancient Chinese civilization and a world-renowned fortification. Stretching 6,350 kilometers on the mountains in Northern China.
Badaling Great Wallscenic area is world-famous for its magnificent scenery, excellent facilities, deep cultural and historical connotations.
Visit Beijing Jade Carving Factory followed by lunch at its restaurant.

Afternoon, stroll along the Sacred Way between statues of warriors and animals to the Ming Tombs, visit the most famous emperors mausoleum of Ming Dynasty with 500 years history — Chang Ling.

DAY 4

BEIJING & XIAN

Morning visit the Temple of Heaven, where emperors once prayed for a good harvest and made offerings of grain, silk and animals.
Constructed during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), the harmonious proportions and bold colors of the Temple of Heaven make it a masterpiece of Chinese architecture. Then, visit the Lama Temple, considered as the largest and most perfectly preserved lamasery in present day China.

Transfer to airport for flight flying to Xian. Arrive Xian, transfer to your hotel.

DAY 5

XIAN


Visit the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses, created to guard the tomb of Qin Shihuang, the first emperor to unite China. One of the most remarkable archaeological discoveries of all time, the Terra Cotta Army is designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will leisurely admire this vast array of soldiers and their terra cotta horses, currently being unearthed in stretches of land the size of football fields!

Visit the Xian Ceramic and Art Workshopto learn how to make Terra Cotta replica Chinese lunch at local restaurant including the Noodle-making Demonstration.
Afternoon visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda- regarded by many as a symbol of the city, the pagoda was built in 652 A.D in Tang Dynasty to house the sutras brought back from India by the famous monk Xuan-zang. And walk along the ancient City Wall of Xi’an

DAY 6

XIAN & CHONGQING

Morning is free until transfer to airport for flight flying to Chongqing. Lunch is on your own. Arrive Chongqing, city tour if time permits. Sichuan flavor dinner at local restaurant, and then transfer to pier to board on 5-star

DAY 7

YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE


Today, shore excursion to visit Xiaoguanshan Ancient Folk Culture, it is a noted site for the relocation and reconstruction of architectural and cultural relics, after the water level rose on the Yangtze as a result of the Three Gorges Dam project. The park reproduces historic ancient residential buildings, courtyards, temples, wood carvings and city gates in the Fengdu region, providing a deep sense of its history and ancient way of life. Performances here include Sichuan opera, acrobatics, folk music, and puppet shows.

Depending on river conditions, an alternate excursion may be substituted to visit Shibaozhai, it was built in the slope of a steep hill along the Yangtze River in 1750 with 9 stories, then upgraded to 12 stories in 1956. Shibaozhai is extraordinary and unique since it was built leaning to the hill with engraving eaves. What’s most impressive is that it was made of wood, which is so exquisite and unique that it is crowned as one of the “World Eight Unique Constructions”, and it is also among a few ancient wooden buildings remained in China.

DAY 8

YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE

Enter the Three Gorges, one of nature’s most extraordinary sculptures. Today you will pass through the first two—Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge. Qutang Gorge is the shortest (5 miles), narrowest (500 feet), and most dramatic. The 25-mile long Wu Gorge is known for its quiet beauty, forest-covered mountains, and cliffs so sheer that the sun barely penetrates the precipices.

Shore excursion to Goddess Stream- Goddess Stream flows from the southern bank of the Yangtze opposite Goddess Peak. Passengers board a smaller craft for a ride of about 15 kms. each way, to view the beauty of its narrow gorges. They will enjoy local folk songs and dances along the way.

Enter Xiling Gorge, the longest (41 miles), and deepest of the Three Gorges.

Depending on river conditions, an alternate excursion may be substituted to Shennong Stream- Board a ferry boat for a relaxing ride up this tributary of the Yangtze, which has its own attractive gorges. This wild preserve is home to more than 1,000 types of trees, and is named for the legendary peasant and mythical founder of Chinese medicine, Shennong, who hiked the cliffs and collected herbs here. During the excursion, you will disembark and enjoy a local cultural performance.

DAY 9

YICHANG & SHANGHAI


Disembark this morning and visit the Three Gorges Dam, which spans the Yangtze River at Sandouping in Xiling Gorge. It is the world’s largest power station. Begun in 1994 and completed in 2009, the Three Gorges Dam is the largest water conservancy project ever undertaken by man. The estimate for construction of the project is 26 billion US dollars. The building of this huge dam was for the purpose of flood control, electricity, navigation, and irrigation.

After morning sightseeing, take a shuttle to Yichang Three Gorges Center Cruise Terminal.

And then transfer to airport for flight to Shanghai Arrive Shanghai, transfer to your hotel. Lunch and dinner are on your own.

DAY 10

SHANGHAI

Morning visit the People’s Park, it is a park with comprehensive leisure functions.
Visit the Shanghai Urban Planning Museum, you can see a lot of graphic materials and architectural models, as well as a panoramic model of the urban area, allowing you to have a comprehensive understanding of the past, present and future of Shanghai's urban construction and development

Then visit the 400 year’s old Yu Gardenand Old Town, Yu Garden was finished in 1577 by a government officer of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) named Pan Yunduan.Yu Garden is small in size, but it contains all elements that a classical Chinese garden should have. The pavilions, halls, rockeries, ponds and cloisters all have unique characteristics. On the periphery of Yu Garden, there is the Old Town, where visitors can buy all kinds of souvenirs like foods, craftworks, and jewels.

Afternoon, spend time at the Bund/Waterfront where grand old buildings face post-modern monuments. Continue to the Shanghai Museum, where you can use handheld information set to enjoy this thoughtfully curated distinguished art collection at your own pace.
